Very nice to touch base with you again. If you're joining us for the first time, a warm welcome to our in-the-loop family. Wow. It's the 21st already? Seems like the last time I looked, May was just beginning! But come to think of it, there were some days in-between that I felt would never ever end. Hmmm. I guess the way I look at things, my attitude, creates entirely different perspectives... and that changes the way things unfold. On time and timing, I'd like to share a little piece of wisdom that I was reminded of when chatting with a friend and client last week -- EVERYTHING moves to a rhythm and tempo of its own -- Here's a quote from I Ching (The Book of Change) that puts it very beautifully and succinctly... "When clouds form in the skies we know that rain will follow but we must not wait for it. Nothing will be achieved by attempting to interfere with the future before the time is ripe. Patience is needed."Whether it's people, events, projects, or that deal I'm just dying to close... they each have their own unique "cycle" and "season" for coming into being -- I experience this time and time again in my own marketing exercises and when pitching for new jobs. There are some things I can't change or rush, whatever my own sense of urgency, priorities, anxieties or agenda. What I've found I CAN do is to give it my very best shot (prepare the gound well, plant the seed, give it some nourishment) and then let it go... and grow. Sometimes things move in little steps. Sometimes by leaps and bounds. I need to learn (and accept) that that's just REALITY. It's proven to be a more stress-free way of "keeping the pipeline full". It's taken me the longest of time to "get it" because all this takes patience. Faith too. Qualities that I'm still kinda short on and still struggling to acquire on a more permanent basis. Brand New Segment...!Even though Ray's been busy with his writing, chugging along to finish his "Inner Child - Spirituality & Business" ebook for you, he's never too busy to do his share of navel-gazing. So, we thought it'd be great if we could share some of his little thought-provoking (often irreverent) gems with you -- Read Ray's "Who Moved My Navel" in our new segment below. Who Moved My Navel...?"There is only do or not do; there is no try." If this statement had come from someone besides the great master Yoda, I may have been tempted to dismiss it. I think this is what he means -- Very often we are stopped by our own fears; we already have the knowledge and skill to undertake what we have set out to do. In that case there is only do or not do. Trying only gives power to our doubts and insecurities. However, there is try, like when we try something new to see if we enjoy the experience, for instance. The trick is the wisdom to know the difference.
